Richmond Youth Camp is nestled among the
trees on
the shores of Richmond Lake. The camp was specially designed to
be
used for youth groups as a retreat from the hustle and bustle of
everyday life.
The Camp has a formal lodge made out of
native
stone. It is 42' x 80' with 14 foot sidewalls and an open beamed
ceiling. In the center is a large meeting room that will easily
hold
up to 100 people. On both ends of the meeting room is a large
fireplace. One is wood burning, the other is gas burning. The
lodge
also has a full service kitchen including a large stove and
refrigerator. It has a full selection of pots, pans and cooking
utensils. On the other end of the lodge there are Men and Women's
restrooms. The lodge has three furnaces that will keep it toasty
warm
even during the coldest winter day.
The camp has three dorms for housing campers
during your stay. Each dorm will sleep 36 campers. They also
feature
a walkout deck on the second floor for a scenic view of the lake.
Each dorm has a shower and toilets. The dorms are also heated
during
the cold weather months.
The Infirmary is located across the path from
the
dorms. It has three sleeping quarters in it and a full bathroom.
It
can be used to house camp counselors.
On the grounds of the camp there is a
basketball
court, tennis court, volley ball court, two softball fields, a
swimming area with a large sand beach, playgrounds and a picnic
area
complete with shelter.
